Ingredients
Scale
Pasta
- 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
Shrimp
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
Sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Boil salted water and cook the spaghetti or linguine until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set it aside to keep warm.
- Cook Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook each side for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
- Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic to the skillet with the shrimp and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Let the mixture simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add Cheese and Seasoning: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Continue stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Combine and Serve: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss everything together to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy shrimp sauce. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute shrimp with scallops or chicken for variation.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
- Parmesan cheese adds saltiness, so season carefully to taste.
- Fresh parsley adds a bright freshness but can be skipped or replaced with basil.
