Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the baking dish: Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the fudge after it sets.
- Melt the butter: Place a saucepan on low heat and gently melt the 1/2 cup unsalted butter until fully liquefied, taking care not to brown it.
- Add white chocolate and condensed milk: Stir in 2 cups of white chocolate chips and 1 can (14 oz) of sweetened condensed milk into the melted butter. Continue stirring over low heat until the mixture is completely melted and smooth with no lumps.
- Flavor and color the mixture: Remove the saucepan from heat. Mix in 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract and 1/4 teaspoon of salt to enhance flavor. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring and stir until evenly distributed.
- Set and chill: Pour the smooth fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish. Place it in the refrigerator and chill for about 2 hours or until the fudge is firm and set. Once set, cut into approximately 16 squares and serve.
Notes
- Line the baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal and cleaner cuts.
- Use low heat when melting to prevent burning the chocolate.
- Adjust peppermint extract to taste; start with 1 teaspoon and add more if a stronger mint flavor is desired.
- Green food coloring is optional but adds a festive touch.
- Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
