These Tofu and Vegetable Patties are a delicious and nutritious plant-based alternative to traditional burgers. Packed with protein and flavor, they are easy to make and perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Tofu and Vegetable Patties:
- 1 (14-ounce) block firm tofu (pressed and crumbled)
- 1 cup grated carrot
- 1/2 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plus more as needed)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the crumbled tofu, grated carrot, chopped bell pepper, onion, and garlic.
- Shape into 6–8 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Serve warm with your favorite sauce or in a sandwich.
Add the soy sauce, nutritional yeast (if using), paprika, cumin, parsley, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
Mix until well combined. If the mixture feels too wet, add more breadcrumbs a tablespoon at a time until it holds together.
Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and firm.
Notes
- These patties freeze well, both before and after cooking.
- Try adding corn, peas, or chopped spinach for variety.
- Serve with tahini sauce, yogurt dip, or inside burger buns for a hearty meal.
