Dough:

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
- To toast the powdered milk: Place it in a dry skillet over medium-low heat and stir constantly for 3–5 minutes until golden brown and nutty in aroma. Set aside to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined. Stir in the toasted powdered milk.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half. Mix the cocoa powder into one half until fully incorporated. Gently fold the two doughs together just enough to create a marbled effect—do not overmix.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place them on the prepared sheet. Slightly flatten each cookie.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For deeper flavor, toast the powdered milk ahead of time and store it in an airtight container.
- You can also use malted milk powder for a slightly different twist.
