Marinade:
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Chicken:
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, minced garlic, basil, parsley, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Place the chicken in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 4–6 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.
- When ready to cook, remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the remaining liquid. Grill, bake, or pan-fry the chicken until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

- This marinade works great with chicken breasts, thighs, or drumsticks.
- You can substitute maple syrup or honey for the brown sugar.
