Description

A quick and healthy breakfast option, Strawberries and Cream Overnight Oats combine creamy Greek yogurt, fresh strawberries, and hearty oats soaked overnight for a deliciously smooth and satisfying start to your day.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • Optional: 1/4-1/2 cup water (if mixture is very thick)

Flavor and Texture Add-ins

  • 1 cup strawberry Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 3/4 cup diced strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • Optional: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a pint-sized mason jar, mix together the old-fashioned oats, milk, strawberry Greek yogurt, chia seeds, diced strawberries, and vanilla protein powder if using. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Adjust Consistency: If the mixture looks too thick, add between 1/4 to 1/2 cup water to reach your desired creaminess and mix thoroughly.
  3. Refrigerate: Cover the jar and place it in the refrigerator. Ideally, let the oats soak overnight for at least 6 to 8 hours, or for a minimum of two hours to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and soften.
  4. Serve: Remove from the fridge, give the oats a good stir, and enjoy cold straight from the jar or transfer to a bowl. Add extra fresh strawberries or toppings if desired.

Notes

  • Using old-fashioned oats is key as they retain texture and absorb liquid well without becoming mushy.
  • Chia seeds add thickness and boost fiber and omega-3 content.
  • The strawberry Greek yogurt adds sweetness and creaminess; choose a low-sugar variety if preferred.
  • You can substitute milk with any plant-based milk like almond or oat milk.
  • Protein powder is optional but enhances the nutritional value for a more filling breakfast.
  • Overnight soaking can be extended up to 24 hours for convenience.
