Cheese Ball
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onion
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
For Decorating and Serving
- Black olives or black food-safe markers for decorating
- Crackers and vegetables for serving
Instructions
- Mix Cheese Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, shredded mozzarella, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, chopped chives, and Worcestershire sauce. Use a hand mixer to blend until the mixture is smooth and fully combined, ensuring even distribution of all flavors.
- Shape and Chill: Shape the cheese mixture into a ball using your hands. For easier handling, lightly oil your hands before shaping. Wrap the cheese ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour until firm.
- Decorate the Cheese Ball: Once chilled, unwrap the cheese ball and place it on a serving plate. Smooth the surface gently to form an oval or round skull shape. Use sliced black olives or a food-safe black marker to create the eyes, nose, and stitched mouth to resemble Jack Skellington.
- Serve: Serve the decorated cheese ball with crackers, pretzels, or vegetable sticks for dipping. For best flavor and texture, decorate just before serving if made a day ahead.
Notes
- Lightly oil hands before shaping the cheese ball to prevent sticking and create a smooth surface.
- This cheese ball can be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated; decorate just before serving to maintain fresh appearance.
- For a spicy twist, add a dash of hot sauce or finely chopped jalapeños to the cheese mixture.
