Canned Salmon Patties:
- 1 (14.75 oz) can salmon (drained, bones removed)
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter (for frying)
- lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine drained salmon, egg, mayonnaise, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Form Patties: Form the mixture into 6–8 patties, pressing gently to hold shape.
- Cook Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties in batches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve warm with lemon wedges.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh cooked salmon for canned if desired.
- For a gluten-free version, use almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Great served with a dollop of tartar sauce or a side salad.
