Ingredients
Scale
Vegetables
- 1 large head of broccoli
Seasonings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional Garnish
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to roast the broccoli and achieve a tender texture with crispy edges.
- Prepare the Broccoli: Wash the broccoli thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized florets to ensure even roasting.
- Season the Broccoli: In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until they’re evenly coated.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on a baking sheet to allow proper air circulation for roasting.
- Roast the Broccoli: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the broccoli for 20-25 minutes, or until the florets are tender and the edges are crispy and slightly browned.
- Add Optional Finishes: After removing from the oven, drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top for an extra burst of flavor, if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- For an extra crispy texture, flip the broccoli halfway through roasting.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for better flavor and texture.
- Lemon juice adds a bright zing but can be omitted if preferred.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and pepper.
- Broccoli stalks can also be sliced and roasted along with florets to reduce waste.
