Description

This delicious ribs recipe combines tender pork baby back ribs with a flavorful dry rub and a sticky barbecue glaze. Perfect for a backyard BBQ or a casual family dinner, these oven-baked ribs are easy to make and a crowd-pleaser every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Rub:

  • 3 pounds pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard

Other:

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (plus more for serving)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional for tang)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for better texture.
  2. Mix the dry rub: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, chili powder, and mustard.
  3. Season the ribs: Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Bake: Place the ribs on a large sheet of foil, meat-side up. Wrap tightly and bake for 2½ to 3 hours, or until tender.
  5. Glaze and finish: Unwrap the ribs, brush with barbecue sauce, then broil or grill for a caramelized finish.
  6. Serve: Let rest, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • For deeper flavor, marinate the ribs in the dry rub overnight.
  • Pair with coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans for a classic BBQ meal.
