  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (thawed)
  • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • powdered sugar for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the tin: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 6-cup muffin tin or line with parchment.
  2. Prepare the apples: Slice the apples in half, remove the cores, and cut them into very thin slices. Microwave the slices with lemon juice and water until soft, then drain.
  3. Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry, cut it into strips, and spread apricot preserves on each strip.
  4. Assemble the roses: Arrange apple slices on the pastry, roll them up to form a rose shape, and place in the muffin tin.
