Description

Crispy and flavorful Parmesan Crusted Potatoes baked to golden perfection with a seasoned breadcrumb and cheese coating, making a delicious side dish that’s both easy and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 medium potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)

Coating

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for crisping the potatoes.
  2. Prepare potatoes: Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Peel them if you prefer, then cut into wedges or thick slices for even cooking.
  3. Make coating mix: In a bowl, combine grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to create the flavorful crust mixture.
  4. Coat potatoes with oil: Toss the potato wedges with olive oil until each piece is evenly coated, which helps the coating stick and crisps the potatoes.
  5. Apply Parmesan mixture: Press each potato wedge firmly into the Parmesan and breadcrumb mixture, making sure each wedge is well covered for maximum flavor and crunch.
  6. Arrange for baking: Place the coated potato wedges on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart so they roast evenly and don’t steam.
  7. Bake and flip: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Flip the potatoes halfway through baking to ensure they become golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  8. Garnish and serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving for a pop of color and freshness.

Notes

  • Use Yukon Gold potatoes for a buttery flavor or Russet potatoes for a fluffier inside and crisp exterior.
  • Panko breadcrumbs give the best crunch; regular breadcrumbs can be used but may be less crispy.
  • Adjust seasoning according to your taste preference; add paprika or chili powder for a spicy kick.
  • Flipping the potatoes halfway ensures even crisping on all sides.
  • Serve with a dip like garlic aioli or ketchup for added flavor.
