Description

This Nutella Frappe recipe is a delicious, creamy, and refreshing coffee-based drink that’s perfect for a quick pick-me-up. Blended with luscious Nutella, full-fat milk, espresso, and a touch of vanilla, it’s a heavenly treat that combines rich chocolate and coffee flavors in a frosty frappe.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee or 1 shot espresso
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Optional Topping

  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew Coffee or Espresso: If using espresso, pull your shot. If not, brew your coffee and set it aside to cool slightly before using to avoid melting the ice too quickly in the frappe.
  2. Warm the Nutella: Place Nutella in a small bowl and microwave for 10–20 seconds or heat gently on the stovetop. This softens the Nutella and makes it easier to blend smoothly with the other ingredients.
  3. Blend Main Ingredients: In a blender, combine the milk, sugar, softened Nutella, brewed coffee or espresso, and vanilla extract. Pulse and blend until the mixture is well combined and smooth to create the rich base of the frappe.
  4. Add Ice and Blend: Add the ice cubes to the blender and blend on high for about 1 minute until fully smooth, achieving the creamy and frosty texture characteristic of a frappe.
  5. Serve: Pour the Nutella frappe into a tall glass. Optionally, top with whipped cream for extra indulgence, and serve immediately to enjoy its refreshing chill and rich flavor.

Notes

  • Use freshly brewed coffee or espresso for the best flavor contrast with Nutella.
  • Microwaving Nutella briefly helps in easier blending and a smoother drink texture.
  • You can adjust the sugar amount based on your sweetness preference.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute whole milk with almond or oat milk, though this will slightly change the flavor and texture.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the frappe’s frosty texture before the ice melts.
