Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips thoroughly to ensure even distribution of flavors.
- Prepare Wet Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Combine Mixtures: Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir using a spatula until all ingredients are fully combined into a thick, even batter.
- Shape the Squares: Press the mixture firmly into a lined baking dish, making sure it’s evenly spread and compacted to hold together when set.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the baking dish for at least 2 hours. This allows the squares to firm up and develop the perfect chewy texture.
- Serve: After chilling, cut the set mixture into 16 squares and serve. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for freshness.
Notes
- You can substitute almond butter with peanut butter or any other nut butter of your choice.
- For a vegan version, use maple syrup or agave nectar instead of honey.
- To add crunch, consider folding in chopped nuts or seeds before chilling.
- Store these squares in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- If chocolate chips are not available, chopped dark chocolate can be used as an alternative.
