Description

Refreshing and vibrant Mint Lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemons, sweetened with homemade mint-infused simple syrup, perfect for a cooling summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Mint-Infused Simple Syrup

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves (plus more for garnish)

For the Lemonade

  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for serving

Instructions

  1. Make the simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely, forming a clear syrup.
  2. Steep the mint: Remove the saucepan from heat and add the fresh mint leaves to the syrup. Let the mixture steep for 10–15 minutes to infuse the mint flavor.
  3. Strain the syrup: After steeping, strain the syrup to remove the mint leaves and discard them, leaving a smooth mint-infused simple syrup.
  4. Combine ingredients: In a large pitcher, mix the fresh lemon juice, the remaining 3 cups of cold water, and the mint-infused simple syrup. Stir well to combine all flavors.
  5. Add ice and garnish: Add ice cubes and lemon slices to the pitcher, then garnish with extra fresh mint leaves for added aroma and visual appeal.
  6. Serve chilled: Pour the mint lemonade into glasses and serve immediately chilled for the best refreshing taste.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, replace 1–2 cups of water with club soda just before serving to add fizz.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less of the mint-infused syrup according to your taste preference.
  • Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best bright and tangy flavor.
  • Mint leaves can be gently bruised before steeping to release more flavor.
