Ingredients
Scale
Fries
- 1 lb frozen thick-cut French fries
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
Toppings
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the fries to a perfect crispness.
- Season the Fries: Spread the frozen thick-cut fries in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle the Cajun seasoning evenly over the fries. Toss gently to coat all fries with oil and seasoning.
- Bake the Fries: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, tossing the fries halfway through to ensure even browning. Bake until the fries are golden and crispy.
- Add Cheese: Remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese over the hot fries. Return to the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese fully.
- Top and Finish: After the cheese has melted and is bubbly, remove the fries from the oven. Drizzle with hot sauce to your desired level of heat and scatter chopped green onions on top for freshness and crunch.
- Garnish and Serve: Serve the Louisiana Voodoo Fries immediately while still hot and crispy, accompanied by cool sour cream on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to allow air circulation around the fries.
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce to suit your preferred spice level.
- Use frozen fries straight from the freezer without thawing for the best texture.
- Substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a tangier dip alternative.
- Try adding cooked and crumbled bacon or jalapeños for an extra flavor boost.
