Description

Jalapeño Peach Chicken is a delightful dish that combines the heat of jalapeños with the sweetness of peaches, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. This easy-to-make skillet chicken dinner is perfect for summer, offering a balance of spicy and sweet that will tantalize your taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sauce:

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 fresh jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1½ cups fresh or canned sliced peaches (drained if canned)
  • 2 tablespoons peach preserves
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh cilantro or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Prepare Sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and jalapeño. Cook for 1–2 minutes. Stir in peaches, peach preserves, vinegar, mustard, and paprika. Simmer for 4–5 minutes, mashing a few peaches to thicken the sauce.
  4. Combine: Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to heat through.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with cilantro or parsley. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave some jalapeño seeds or add red pepper flakes.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, quinoa, or grilled veggies.
  • Fresh peaches are recommended for better texture, but canned peaches can be used.
