Description

A vibrant, nutrient-packed Island Green Detox Smoothie bursting with tropical flavors and superfoods. This creamy smoothie combines fresh greens, antioxidant-rich powders, and hydrating coconut water for a refreshing and energizing drink perfect for boosting your daily wellness routine.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquid Base

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk

Powders and Acids

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon chlorella powder
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Fruits and Greens

  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ½ cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach
  • 1 cup chopped curly kale, stems removed
  • ½ avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 5 mint leaves

Seeds and Extras

  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 4 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Blend liquids and powders: Pour the coconut water and almond milk into your blender. Add the matcha powder, chlorella powder, and apple cider vinegar. Blend on low for five seconds to prevent clumping and create a smooth, creamy base.
  2. Add creamy fruits and ginger: Incorporate the avocado, frozen banana, fresh ginger, and mint leaves into the blender. Blend on medium speed for about ten seconds to improve texture and evenly distribute flavors before adding greens.
  3. Incorporate greens: Add the fresh baby spinach and chopped kale. Blend on medium speed until the mixture turns a deep green color and the greens are fully incorporated, ensuring a smooth, leafy-free texture.
  4. Add frozen fruits, seeds, and ice: Toss in the frozen pineapple chunks, frozen mango chunks, hemp seeds, chia seeds, and ice cubes. Blend on high for approximately thirty seconds until the smoothie is smooth and frothy, with a chilled, refreshing consistency.
  5. Finish with lime juice: Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the blender and blend for an additional five seconds. Pour into a tall glass and optionally garnish with a sprig of mint to add a fresh, citrusy finish.

Notes

  • Use frozen fruits to ensure a cold, creamy smoothie without diluting it with extra ice.
  • Fresh ginger adds a zesty kick but can be adjusted to taste or omitted if sensitive to spice.
  • Matcha and chlorella powders enhance antioxidant and detox benefits but can be replaced or skipped based on preference.
  • Adding seeds boosts protein and healthy fats, making the smoothie more filling and nutritious.
  • For a thinner consistency, add more coconut water or almond milk as needed.
