Ingredients
Scale
For the Dough:
- 1 pound pizza dough
For the Garlic Butter:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
For Garnish:
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Prepare Dough: Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick for easy handling and shaping.
- Cut and Knot Dough: Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal strips, then tie each strip into a knot and place them spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet to allow even baking.
- Bake Knots: Bake the knots in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown, indicating they are cooked through and crisp on the outside.
- Make Garlic Butter Sauce: While the knots bake, combine melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl to create a flavorful garlic butter mixture.
- Brush and Garnish: As soon as the knots come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture, then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley over the warm knots. Add crushed red pepper flakes if you want a slight kick.
- Serve: Serve the garlic Parmesan knots warm for the best flavor and texture, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.
Notes
- Store leftover knots in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore their crispness.
- These knots pair wonderfully with marinara sauce for dipping.
