Description

Frozen Banana Bites are a delicious and refreshing dessert featuring ripe banana slices dipped in rich melted chocolate and optionally topped with nuts, coconut, or mini chocolate chips. These bite-sized treats are easy to prepare and perfect for a healthy frozen snack or indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Optional Toppings

  • 1/4 cup crushed peanuts or almonds
  • 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and place in the freezer for about 30 minutes until firm.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  3. Dip the Bananas: Dip each frozen banana slice halfway or fully into the melted chocolate and place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Add Toppings: Immediately sprinkle the dipped banana slices with crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or mini chocolate chips if desired to add texture and flavor.
  5. Freeze to Set: Return the tray to the freezer for another 30 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set and firm.
  6. Serve and Store: Serve the frozen banana bites immediately or store them in an airtight container in the freezer to enjoy later.

Notes

  • You can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate depending on your preference for sweetness and richness.
  • For a twist, spread peanut butter between two banana slices to create small banana bite sandwiches before dipping them in chocolate.
