Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Chicken Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté onion: In a pan, heat oil or butter, add chopped onion, and sauté until soft.
  3. Add seasonings: Stir in ginger-garlic paste, shredded chicken, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and cumin. Mix well.
  4. Thicken filling: Sprinkle in flour, pour in milk slowly, stirring constantly, until a thick, creamy filling forms. Cook for a few more minutes.
  5. Add cilantro: Stir in chopped cilantro and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. Prepare pastry: Roll out puff pastry, cut into rectangles, spoon chicken mixture onto one side of each, fold over, and seal edges.
  7. Brush with egg wash: Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake: Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve warm.
