Puff Pastry:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
Chicken Filling:
- 1 tablespoon oil or butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Egg Wash:
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sauté onion: In a pan, heat oil or butter, add chopped onion, and sauté until soft.
- Add seasonings: Stir in ginger-garlic paste, shredded chicken, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and cumin. Mix well.
- Thicken filling: Sprinkle in flour, pour in milk slowly, stirring constantly, until a thick, creamy filling forms. Cook for a few more minutes.
- Add cilantro: Stir in chopped cilantro and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Prepare pastry: Roll out puff pastry, cut into rectangles, spoon chicken mixture onto one side of each, fold over, and seal edges.
- Brush with egg wash: Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake: Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and puffed. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can make the filling ahead and refrigerate it for up to 2 days.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garam masala.
