Description

Enjoy these decadent Crock Pot Cinnamon Rolls with Cherry Pie Filling, a perfect sweet and fruity breakfast or dessert made effortlessly using your slow cooker. Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls layered with luscious cherry pie filling and topped with sweet icing make for a delightful treat that requires minimal prep and no oven baking.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1 can (16.5 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (with icing)
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Additional Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for greasing)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crock pot: Grease the inside of the crock pot with 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter to prevent the cinnamon roll dough from sticking during cooking.
  2. Layer the ingredients: Evenly spread half of the cherry pie filling on the bottom of the greased crock pot to create a fruity base layer.
  3. Add the cinnamon rolls: Separate the cinnamon roll dough pieces and place them in a single layer over the cherry pie filling inside the crock pot.
  4. Top with more cherries and cinnamon: Sprinkle ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon over the rolls, if desired, and spoon the remaining cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the cinnamon rolls.
  5. Slow cook: Cover the crock pot with its lid and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 3 hours. Cook until the cinnamon rolls are fluffy, fully cooked, and the cherry filling is bubbling.
  6. Drizzle with icing: Once the rolls are done cooking, drizzle the reserved icing from the cinnamon roll package over the warm cinnamon rolls to add sweetness and moisture.
  7. Serve & enjoy: Serve the cinnamon rolls immediately. For an extra indulgent treat, top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Use refrigerated cinnamon roll dough for the easiest preparation.
  • Greasing the crock pot is essential to prevent sticking and to aid easy serving.
  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the crock pot brand and size.
  • Optional whipped cream or vanilla ice cream adds a creamy texture and enhances the dessert aspect.
  • Ground cinnamon adds a subtle spice that complements the cherry filling.
