Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 1 can (16.5 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (with icing)
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
Additional Ingredients
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for greasing)
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the crock pot: Grease the inside of the crock pot with 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter to prevent the cinnamon roll dough from sticking during cooking.
- Layer the ingredients: Evenly spread half of the cherry pie filling on the bottom of the greased crock pot to create a fruity base layer.
- Add the cinnamon rolls: Separate the cinnamon roll dough pieces and place them in a single layer over the cherry pie filling inside the crock pot.
- Top with more cherries and cinnamon: Sprinkle ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon over the rolls, if desired, and spoon the remaining cherry pie filling evenly over the top of the cinnamon rolls.
- Slow cook: Cover the crock pot with its lid and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 3 hours. Cook until the cinnamon rolls are fluffy, fully cooked, and the cherry filling is bubbling.
- Drizzle with icing: Once the rolls are done cooking, drizzle the reserved icing from the cinnamon roll package over the warm cinnamon rolls to add sweetness and moisture.
- Serve & enjoy: Serve the cinnamon rolls immediately. For an extra indulgent treat, top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
