Ingredients
Scale
Seafood
- 4 lobster tails (about 5–6 ounces each)
Sauce Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Paprika for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Oven and Lobster Tails: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with butter or oil. Using kitchen scissors, cut down the top shell of each lobster tail. Gently lift the meat through the slit so it rests on top of the shell while still attached at the base.
- Season Lobster Meat: Lightly season the exposed lobster meat with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of paprika if desired to enhance flavor and color.
- Make Garlic Butter Cream Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Add Cheese and Lemon: Incorporate the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest into the cream mixture. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 to 3 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Combine and Bake: Spoon half of the garlic cream sauce evenly over the prepared lobster tails in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and cooked through.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the lobster tails from the oven. Spoon the remaining garlic cream sauce over the lobster meat and sprinkle with the chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
Notes
- For added flavor and a slight char, broil the lobster tails for the last 2 minutes of baking.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, fresh pasta, or a crisp green salad to balance the richness.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best melting characteristics and depth of flavor.
