- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Topping
- 1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, broccoli florets, and cooked white rice. Add the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and evenly coated.
- Assemble Casserole: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly to ensure uniform cooking and texture.
- Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, mix the crushed buttery crackers with the melted butter until evenly coated. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the surface of the casserole to create a crispy topping.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the topping is a beautiful golden brown.
- Rest and Serve: Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes after baking to set and cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
- Using rotisserie chicken can save time and add extra flavor.
- You can substitute brown rice for white rice for a healthier option.
- For added flavor, include a small pinch of paprika or sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on the topping before baking.
