  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, melted butter, diced onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. Fold in the shredded hash browns and cooked chicken until evenly coated.

  4. Bake: Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is hot and bubbly. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese in the last 5 minutes of baking.
  5. Rest and serve: Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
