Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 1 package Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mixâ„¢
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- All-purpose flour (for dusting)
Filling
- 1 package Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mixâ„¢ (second packet)
Icing
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Prepare Dough: In a large bowl, combine one package of Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mixâ„¢, softened butter, and one large egg. Knead the mixture until a smooth dough ball forms.
- Roll Out Dough: Lightly dust a silicone pastry mat or a large piece of parchment paper with all-purpose flour. Place the dough on the floured surface and roll it out into a 14×11-inch rectangle. Sprinkle the contents of the second Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix packet evenly over the dough.
- Form Log: Starting from the long edge, use the pastry mat or parchment paper to help roll the dough into a tight log shape. Press and smooth the dough as you roll, carefully pulling the mat or paper away as you proceed.
- Chill: Cut the log in half and tightly wrap each half in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up the dough.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough is chilling.
- Slice and Bake: Remove the dough logs from the refrigerator and unwrap the plastic wrap. Carefully slice the logs into ¼-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a large baking sheet, spaced slightly apart. Bake in the oven for 14-16 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
- Cool: Remove the baked cinnamon swirls from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make Icing: In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth and of drizzle consistency.
- Drizzle Icing: Once the cinnamon swirls are fully cooled, drizzle the prepared icing over the top for a sweet finishing touch.
Notes
- Ensure the dough is well chilled before slicing to maintain the swirl shape during baking.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the logs neatly without squashing them.
- The icing can be adjusted for thickness by adding more milk or powdered sugar to achieve desired consistency.
- Store leftover cinnamon swirls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
- Reheat briefly in the oven or microwave before serving to enjoy warm swirls.
