Ingredients
Scale
Sweet Potatoes
- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
Seasoning & Dressing
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting the sweet potatoes.
- Toss ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cubed sweet potatoes with olive oil, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg if using, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
- Arrange on baking sheet: Spread the sweet potatoes in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet to allow even roasting and prevent sticking.
- Roast: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 30 to 35 minutes. Stir halfway through cooking to promote even caramelization and tender texture.
- Garnish and serve: Once tender and caramelized around the edges, remove the sweet potatoes from the oven. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve warm as a flavorful side dish.
Notes
- For extra crisp edges, avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper roasting.
- Add a dash of cayenne pepper for a sweet-and-spicy twist.
- Pairs wonderfully with roasted meats or other holiday main courses.
