Description

This creamy and flavorful Chicken in Boursin Garlic Herb Cream Sauce is a quick and elegant dish perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions. Tender chicken breasts are seared to golden perfection, then simmered in a rich sauce made with Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese, heavy cream, and a hint of garlic, creating a luscious and savory meal that pairs beautifully with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Generously season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until they develop a golden brown crust and are cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Deglaze the pan: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet with a wooden spoon to loosen all the flavorful browned bits left from the chicken.
  5. Make the cream sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Simmer the chicken in sauce: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and let them simmer together for 3-5 minutes. This warms the chicken through and allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish for a pop of color and fresh herb flavor before serving.

  • Use full-fat Boursin cheese for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To make this dish gluten-free, ensure the chicken broth used is gluten-free certified.
