Ingredients
Scale
Meat Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
Dough
- 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
- 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved
Topping
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning mix according to the packet instructions, stirring thoroughly. Set the seasoned beef aside.
- Prepare the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the Pillsbury pizza dough tube and cut it into 10 equal rectangular pieces, ready for filling.
- Assemble the Taco Sticks: Spoon a portion of the seasoned beef onto each dough rectangle. Place a halved cheese stick on top of the beef, then carefully roll the dough around the filling and seal the edges firmly to encase the ingredients. Arrange each taco stick seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush with Butter Mixture: Combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley in a small bowl. Using a pastry brush, generously brush this mixture over each taco stick to add flavor and help create a golden crust.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the taco sticks are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the taco sticks to cool slightly for a few minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dips such as salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
Notes
- You can substitute colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks with your preferred cheese sticks if desired.
- For extra flavor, add chopped onions or jalapeños to the beef mixture before cooking.
- Make sure to seal the dough edges well to prevent cheese and beef from oozing out while baking.
- These taco sticks can be made ahead and reheated in the oven to retain crispiness.
- Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping to enhance the taste.
