Potatoes:

Cheese Sauce:

- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish:
- chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, whisk in the flour to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk and cream until thickened. Remove from heat, add seasonings and cheeses until melted and smooth.
- Layer Potatoes and Sauce: Alternate layers of potatoes and cheese sauce in the baking dish. Top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Rest and Serve: Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
