Description

These Cheeseburger Sliders with Queso are a delicious and easy-to-make party favorite. Juicy seasoned ground beef is topped with creamy queso and cheddar cheese, nestled inside soft slider buns, and baked to perfection. Perfect for game days, gatherings, or a quick weeknight dinner, these flavorful sliders can be customized with pickles, onions, and your choice of condiments.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 cup prepared queso cheese sauce
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut into small squares
  • ¼ cup diced onions
  • ¼ cup diced pickles

To Serve

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Break the meat apart using a spoon and cook until fully browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease to keep the sliders from becoming greasy.
  3. Prepare Buns: Slice the slider buns or Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish to form the base layer for the sliders.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Spread the cooked ground beef evenly over the bottom halves of the buns. Drizzle the prepared queso cheese sauce evenly on top of the meat layer. Add pieces of cheddar cheese across the queso, then sprinkle diced onions and pickles on top for added flavor and texture.
  5. Top and Season: Place the top halves of the buns over the assembled filling. Brush the tops with melted butter, and if desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor and crunch.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese has melted completely and the buns are warm and lightly toasted.
  7. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and carefully slice into individual portions. Serve warm with optional ketchup and mustard for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add cooked bacon pieces or jalapeños to the filling before baking.
  • Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven instead of the microwave to maintain the buns’ texture.
