Description

These Banana and Peanut Butter Chewy Sticks for Dogs are a tasty and wholesome treat that your furry friend will love. Made with natural ingredients, these homemade dog treats are perfect for rewarding good behavior or just showing your pup some extra love.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened and xylitol-free)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mash the banana and mix in the peanut butter and egg until well combined.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the whole wheat flour, oats, and cinnamon, mixing until a stiff dough forms.
  4. Roll and Cut: On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into sticks or desired shapes using a knife or cookie cutter.
  5. Bake: Place the sticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and firm.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let them cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Make sure the peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • Store the chewy sticks in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for longer storage.
  • You can substitute oat flour or rice flour for a wheat-free option.
