Scale
Ingredients
- 8 oz whole grain pasta (penne, bowtie, rotini, shells)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- â…“ cup nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Season the Pasta: Add lemon juice to the cooked pasta and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt over the pasta and toss well to evenly coat all the pieces.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C) to prepare for cooking the pasta chips.
- Air Fry the Pasta Chips: Spread the seasoned pasta chips evenly in the air fryer basket. If needed, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 8-12 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- Cool Before Serving: Remove the pasta chips from the air fryer and let them cool for about 10 minutes. This resting time allows them to crisp up further, resulting in a perfect crunchy texture.
Notes
- Use whole grain pasta for added fiber and nutrition.
- Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model; keep an eye on the chips to prevent burning.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can use the oven method by baking at 375°F for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Allowing the pasta chips to cool after cooking improves their crispiness.
- Try different seasonings like paprika or chili powder for variety.
