Description

These Air Fryer Chicken Meatballs with Parmesan are a quick and delicious recipe that delivers juicy, flavorful meatballs with a crispy exterior. Ready in just 20 minutes, they’re perfect for a healthy appetizer, snack, or a protein-packed meal served with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

Meatball Mixture

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 3 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley or 2 tbsp fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, olive oil, and parsley. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape Meatballs: Using a heaping tablespoon of the mixture, shape it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture, resulting in approximately 24 meatballs. Place the shaped meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Line the basket with foil or spray it with cooking spray for easier cleanup if desired.
  4. Cook Meatballs: Place the meatballs in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are browned and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve: Remove the meatballs from the air fryer. Optionally, re-warm all the cooked meatballs together for a few minutes. Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh parsley for dried parsley by doubling the amount.
  • Ensure the meatballs are spaced out in the air fryer basket for even cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to guarantee the chicken meatballs reach a safe internal temperature.
  • These meatballs can be made ahead and reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes.
  • For gluten-free options, substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
