Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 3 medium russet potatoes
Seasoning
- 1½ tablespoons canola or olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Toppings (optional)
- Butter
- Sour cream
- Shredded cheese
- Chives
Instructions
- Preparation: Wash and thoroughly dry the potatoes to remove any dirt, ensuring the skins are clean and dry to promote crispiness during cooking.
- Seasoning: Rub each potato with canola or olive oil to coat evenly, then generously sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) if your model requires preheating for even cooking.
- Arrange Potatoes: Place the seasoned potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch each other to allow hot air circulation.
- Cook: Air fry the potatoes for 40 minutes, then check doneness by inserting a knife into the center; it should go in easily.
- Continue Cooking if Needed: If the potatoes are not fully cooked, air fry for an additional 5-10 minutes, checking periodically until tender.
- Remove and Serve: Carefully take the potatoes out of the air fryer. Slice open each potato and fluff the inside with a fork.
- Add Toppings: Top with butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, chives, or your favorite toppings to enjoy.
Notes
- Make sure the potatoes are completely dry before oiling to achieve crispy skin.
- Use russet potatoes for the best fluffy texture on the inside.
- You can adjust cooking time based on the size of the potatoes and your air fryer model.
- For extra crispiness, flip the potatoes halfway through cooking if your air fryer basket allows.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings such as garlic powder, paprika or herbs.
